Scriptures
- We recognize the King James Bible as the inspired,
preserved, and infallible Word of God in the English language. We believe both
the
Old and New Testament are definitely inspired word for word. We
accept the Textus Receptus manuscripts from which came the King James Bible. The
Scripture is the final authority in all manners of faith and practice.
Psalm 12;6, 7 ~ "The words of the
LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven
times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this
generation for ever."
Matthew 4:4b ~ "...Man shall not live
by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth our of the mouth of
God,"
II_Timothy 3:16, 17 ~ "All scripture is
given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine for reproof for
correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be
perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."
Sovereign
God - We believe that God is one All-Powerful and All-Holy God in three
persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit eternally existing
as a Trinity. (Deuteronomy
6:4; Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 8:6)
I John 5:7 ~ "For there are three that
bear record in heaven. The Father The Word and The Holy Ghost: and these Three
are One."
Son
- Jesus Christ, eternally existing, is the only begotten Son of God, Who became
a man totally apart from sin, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the
virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. (Luke 1:30-35; John 1:1-15;
Philippians 2:5-8; Colossians 1:15)
John
1 1-15 ~ "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing
made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness
comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that
all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that
Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh
into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world
knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the
sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of
the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his
glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and
truth. John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I
spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me."
Sin
- Man was created in the image of God, but willfully sinned, bringing not only
physical death, but also spiritual death -- separation from God. Now, all mankind
is totally depraved, having inherited a sinful nature; is bent towards sinning,
and has become sinful in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1:26, 27; 2:16, 17;
3:6-19; Romans 3:10-23; 6:23)
Romans
3:10, 11 ~ "As it
is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God."
Romans 3:23 ~ "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
Romans 6:23 ~
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Salvation
- We know that Jesus Christ
died to save individuals from the penalty of sin by bearing their sins, in His
body, on the cross. This act provided the payment for sin and God has accepted
it. This payment is the free gift of God and it can only be obtained by faith in
the Lord Jesus Christ and by acceptance of Him as personal Saviour. No
amount of good works, church membership, baptism, or religious exercise is
sufficient to atone for sin. Only the blood of Jesus Christ can save.
John 3:3 ~ "Jesus answered and said
unto him, verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he
cannot see the kingdom of God."
Ephesians 2:8, 9 ~ "For by grace
are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift
of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Romans 10:13 ~ "For whosoever shall
call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Biblical
Baptism
-
We believe that Biblical baptism is by
immersion.
We believe that baptism is very important, for it pictures the death, the
burial, and the resurrection of Christ. I Peter 3:21 tells us that it is a
"figure." Obedient Christians will submit to baptism, but they
should never confuse it with their salvation. Remember, the repentant
thief was saved WITHOUT being baptized (Luke 23:42-43), and the eunuch
of Acts chapter eight was not permitted to be baptized until he first BELIEVED on
Christ (Acts 8:36-38).
Luke 23:42, 43 ~ "And he
said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me
in paradise."
Acts 8:36-38 ~ "And as
they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch
said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest.
And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the
water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him."
Creation - We believe that the Biblical
record of the creation is literal, and
not allegorical or figurative. We believe that everything was created in six
literal twenty four hour days. God created Heaven and Earth. He brought forth
all original matter out of nothing. He ordained species to bring forth after
its kind, and He formed man of the dust of the ground. Man did not evolve over
a period of time, but was created in the image of God by an instant and final
action. All mankind are descendants from Adam and Eve. (Genesis 1)
Security of the Believer ~ We
believe in the eternal security of the believer. The Bible teaches we can have
the assurance that salvation cannot be lost. No act of any creature can
separate us from God's love. There are not any good works that can
save us nor any bad deeds that can take salvation away. (John 10:27-30)
Romans 8:39 ~ Nor height, nor depth, nor
any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which
is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
